MENTAL HEALTH
Indian Scenario- the Rich don’t care, the Poor don’t know, Schools/Colleges won’t tell and Doctors won’t talk!
Almost 90% of Indian Students (particularly, CA/CS/CMA Students) belongs to middle class families. They have immense amount of knowledge in their respective fields. Have jobs and usually run around the clock to make ends meet. But
For most of them, Health is just a mere absence of disease.
God forbids, if anything (here, physical illness) happen to them, they cannot afford corporate prices nor they won’t visit government services (despite evidence to the contrary, government hospitals are usually despised and avoided by most of the well-to-do lot).
So, if this is the scenario for a physical illness, you can understand regarding mental illness.
Awareness regarding mental health and illnesses need to be accounted. Although, the degree of stigma incorporated in the society due to decades of superstition, discrimination and denial was too strong to simply fade away.
And we all know that human mind is the most mysterious entity in the universe and We CA/CS/CMA students are not considered to be even human, at times.
We can measure the depth of an ocean but when it is about mind we simply can`t do it. If you even claim that you have reached the bottom of someone`s mind that you know them fully, but still you will see it was much deeper when that person gets changed radically.
The beat of someone`s mind can only be felt by another mind, your hands won`t work. That is why it becomes one of the toughest things, analyzing mental health.
So to be successful not only in our careers but in overall life also, be it our family life, love life, professional life or in society. We need to educate ourselves and our loved ones about mental health and why is it important?
