- Takeaways from my Story
Early Life:
I completed my Senior Secondary from Arts with 53 % and having grace in Science subject. so you can imagine that I am an average student in my school time. In summer holidays one of my friend told me that he is studying Commerce. I decided to do my higher education in Commerce stream.
I belong to a small town from Uttar Pradesh my Father denied to take commerce as a stream as I was going to be only girl in my class or simply, I had to move from girls’ school to coadd and in 2005 people of my town don’t put their daughters in a coadd.
After continuously asking for my father’s permission to study commerce he said to me “what you will do after studying too much because ultimately you have to run a house”. I decided to find the answer of that question as purpose of life couldn’t be only to get marry and run a house. That could be a part of my life but not going to be sole purpose of my life.
After seeing my dedication my father allowed me to join different college with altogether different stream.
During my college time, one day my teacher told me about Chartered Accountancy course and from then I decided to join it. Life definitely will not be easy for those who decided their fate to do something big. Same was with me. Due to lack of resources of C.A. type course in my town and family financial issues restricted me to join the course immediately but I continued my graduation in Commerce Stream with around 15 km daily travel as we didn’t have college in our town at that time.
Life as computer Operator:
After completing my B.Com, I appeared UPTU examination and scored well. In counselling I got decent college but my father couldn’t afford course fees and so I didn’t get any college. I was completely disheartened and so my sister has taken me Agra with her and there I joined Tally course. Fate had something for me as owner of that institute was CA and faculty was also CA. So now I was with CAs. Within 3 months of my course I got an opportunity to work in a CA Firm as Computer operator. There I got opportunity to meet many CA articles. I always kept asking then about CA course, CA classes and CA institute.
We used to get 1 hour for lunch in my job time. I finished that lunch in first 10 minutes and in remaining time I used to visit CA institute and inquiring about CA classes. With my small saving of Rs.2500 and support of my sister, I got myself registered for CPT, which is entrance exam of CA course, and searched for morning classes so I can continue my job along with my study and luckily, I got a class. I also got permission from my boss regarding 1-hour relaxation because class timing was 7-11. So, for first few months my schedule was so busy as I used to attend class from 7-11 and then office from 11-6.30 and then used to practice subjects in evening. I was so blessed with my loved ones so I cleared my CPT with good marks and registered for IPCC.
Being Fearless
After clearing CPT, I registered for IPCC and my main fear for going class by cycle and learning with CBSE board students as I did my education in Hindi. So, reading, writing and speaking English was my big fear. But I decided not to worry about what others are thinking about you as I came here to learn and I will learn and clear IPCC. I cleared my IPCC papers in first attempt.
Completing CA Final after marriage
After my marriage before my CA Final attempt and moved to Mumbai with my husband. It took me many attempts in clearing CA Final as I was not so good so good in managing family along with my studies.
My Experience of CA Practice
After clearing my examination I established my own Firm. Establishing a firm and running it successfully are two different things specially when you are in completely new city and without any initial support. I accepted that challenge and started to attend various seminars, group discussions and also used social platform for good networking. Initially I got work on assignments basis from relatives, friends. gradually with quality of work I started to get independent assignments. I am a believer to specialize myself in the field I am working. So along with my professional course I did and doing various certification courses from ICAI ,along with my Company Secretary course.
Takeaways from my Story

- Offer good services to clients and have patience in initial years. Don’t work for money add value to clients business
